Regional business development
Digital Central is a West Midlands business development project, which intends to help the region become more widely recognised for its digital media and music sectors.
Digital Central is a consortium project led by Birmingham City University with a mix of private and public sector partners. The project is hosted by the Birmingham School of Media at its Screen Media Lab premises. Other partners include Screen West Midlands, Coventry University, Keele University, Contact Knowledge Exchange, Maverick Television, Hi8us Midlands and Channel 4 Ideas Factory West Midlands.
The project focuses on development in the following areas: Film, Television, Animation, Interactive Media, Computer Games, Digital Imaging, Music and Radio.
The aim of the project is to develop an enterprise culture for businesses that will encourage economic growth and increase employment through the promotion of innovative new ideas, the development of new market opportunities and the nurturing of a new generation of entrepreneurs.
