School Applicant Days

Applicants to courses in the school are invited to attend applicant days, and are welcome to bring their families – although please do give us notice as these days are very popular and numbers are limited.

Birmingham City University City North campus Applicants are asked to bring a portfolio of work with them to the open day. In order to make the process as straightforward as possible, we conduct an interview during your visit. This allows us to give you a decision on the day as to whether an offer will be made or not.

The open day process is central to making an informed decision on whether the course is the right one for you. Your decision to attend an open day not only demonstrates your commitment to your studies, but also that you have a full understanding of the nature and demands of the course. This is taken into account when offers are made.

What do the Applicant Days include?

During the Open Day you will have the opportunity to speak to lecturers – and current students. You will be shown around the school's facilities, and find out more about production areas you can study. You will also have an opportunity to look at some student accommodation.

When are they?

Baker Building School Applicant Days take place at the end of October, and in the middle of December, January, and March.

How do I attend?

If you wish to attend the School Open Days, please contact the Admissions Coordinator at media@bcu.ac.uk. Due to high demand school applicant Days from December onwards are limited to applicants: to be invited to attend please apply to the course.
